Mine may not be the same problem, because it will suddenly die, stop dead like the ignition cut out, for about a half second or so, then it's running again and all is normal. It usually happens when I'm accelerating, but not necessarily. It has only died on me twice, but starts back up without hesitation. In twenty miles of city driving in the last week it's done it around ten times.

Does it just die, or does it cut out and then die?

Get the code. most of these are P0320's crankshaft position sensor failures - stop the engine like you turned it off.

Driving down the road the battery light came on,

Your charging system stopped working (that's what the light means if it comes on while the engine is running), and now the battery is run down too low. Take your alternator off and have it tested. You could or should also have the battery tested, but it will need to be charged up first on a battery charger. If it is 3 years old or more, you may need a new battery. First have the alternator tested at a parts store- it is a free service.

Ok here we go again 2000 buick lesabre . driving down road service engine light comes shortly after car stops dead. wait a few minutes usually starts back up light might go out get home fine. everyone is...

What you need to do is have the code checked for the service engine soon light. This will help in diagnosing what could be causing the vehicle to stop dead.By this I am assuming you mean it will stall.Auto Zone and some other parts stores will check the code for you for free. But the diagnosing will still need to be done to see what is causing the light to come on and make the car stall.Sometimes you may need a scan tool and a multi meter to help find the problem.Which means you may have to go to a repair shop.Hope this has helped you.Good luck.

Service engine light flash

It sounds like a transmission electrical problem (possible pressure control solenoid, or trans fluid pressure switch). Unfortunately to be sure you have to have someone scan for stored codes. Although the problem is intermittent there should be "history codes" saved in the PCM. Hope this helps
