I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME. I JUST BAUGHT A 200 DURANGO AND THE ENINGE LIGHT IS ON....IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN EASILY CHECK THE CODES MY SELF...DO I NEED A CODE READER OR CAN I DO IT ANOTHER WAY LIKE THE IGNITION ON OFF THING AND IF SO CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN THE PROPER WAY TO DO THIS .
Agreed, the engine light covers MANY aspects of the vehicle, the Code Reader is in excess of $2500 and dealerships won't sell one to you. Typically a 1 hour charge to hookup and find out what the code is.

Check the harness for the injector for loose connections. Also, if you purchase a noid light(Oreily's carries them) to plug into the #5 fuel injector harness and turn on the car to see if it's telling the injector to fire. If the pulsing of the light is intermittent and not steady then there may be an issue with the computer. If the light is not coming on at all then there may be a break in the wire or like i said a bad computer.
The power lock problem is definately the electric lock actuator in the door. Replace it. The power window problem could be the switch or the motor. Put a test light on the motor connections. Operate the power window switch up and down. If the light works both directions, then replace the motor. If the light only lights one direction, then replace the switch... and you still might have to replace the motor afterward so do not think that replacing the switch is absolute. They sometimes fail together.
