put the key in the ignition and without starting the vehicle turn the key on and off three times and on the third time leave the ignition in on the on position and look at the digital odometer and it will give you codes one at a time and then you can find out exactlly what they are worked great and solved all my issues...man a great truck 2000 durango slt 5.9 full load with leather and 1200 $$$ in brand new tires only paid 1900$$$ great deal and the wife and i love it it tows our trailer so well i can't even feel the trailer on the back

Agreed, the engine light covers MANY aspects of the vehicle, the Code Reader is in excess of $2500 and dealerships won't sell one to you. Typically a 1 hour charge to hookup and find out what the code is.

I recommend that you go to your local AutoZone they have a code reader and they don't charge for it.

There is a way to make the car tell you, but it's safer to hook it up and read it that way.

2000 tundra odometer stopped working

The check engine light should come back on at some point.
Chances are the problem is the speed sensor in the transmission.

I have a 2000 Dodge durango and i keep getting the cylinder 5 misfire code. we have changed the plugs, wires, distributor cap, and injector. I dont know what else to do! it is only coming on number 5

Check the harness for the injector for loose connections. Also, if you purchase a noid light(Oreily's carries them) to plug into the #5 fuel injector harness and turn on the car to see if it's telling the injector to fire. If the pulsing of the light is intermittent and not steady then there may be an issue with the computer. If the light is not coming on at all then there may be a break in the wire or like i said a bad computer.

My 2000 Durango electrical/wiring problems...

The power lock problem is definately the electric lock actuator in the door. Replace it.
The power window problem could be the switch or the motor.
Put a test light on the motor connections. Operate the power window switch up and down. If the light works both directions, then replace the motor. If the light only lights one direction, then replace the switch... and you still might have to replace the motor afterward so do not think that replacing the switch is absolute. They sometimes fail together.

The oil sensor monitors oil pressure, if you are certain that the oil pressure is ok, then replace the sensor.
