Question about 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix
My key gets stuck in the ignition when I try to start the car and all of the energy is gone from the vehicle. There is no energy going back to the vehicle after I try that and the key is still stuck. Parked our 01 Grand Prix at the store, came back out, unlocked the doors with keyless entry, put key in ignition, turned to start and lost all power in car, and key wouldn't come out. I understand the key positioning is a safety feature, keeping the transaxle from locking and being damaged by towing. I'm gonna look at the battery terminals, cables, and such as we replaced a bad battery a couple of months ago that had corroded pretty bad.
I have the same problem i think its a saftey hazzard when i went to start my car it was dead and the key would not come out and i couldnt shift it in (N) to move it even the button that u push to shift out of park didnt work
