@003 Kia Sorento EX 157000 miles. When driving it suddenly loses power. Engine does not cut off but won't rev up. If I let it idle for a short time, it will resume as normal. Took it to Kia and they replaced gas tank, ORVR canister, and fill vent valve because of gas purging out during fueling. 2 days later it started with the power loss again. Kia said it was the passenger catalytic converter. Replaced it, same problem, they replaced crank sensor. nNow 2 days later it is worse than before. No check engine light.

    you said they replaced the passenger side cat and im assuming the one in the manifold, but what about the cat downstream? if the one in the manifold deteriorated then the one downstream would clog up

You do not mention the most important test to figure this out, that is the OBD2 engine control module fault code test. Do that test.

SOURCE: Mustang GT 4.6 EVAP Canister Purge Valve Location?

You will need to remove the right front wheel & wheel well liner. The canister purge valve is behind the cover. It should have two tube going into the bottom and one on the side near the top.
You can fix it!

Sounds like the dealer has more work to do on the EVAP System. Smoke test the system and check Tech Service Bulletins. You could go to a local garage,it would be cheaper.

Fuel sensor is not working well. Just changed mine today for the same problem.

I think you mean drive cycle not complete.
Generally the van needs to be driven 50-100 miles at both city and highway speeds. The distance needs to start when the engine is at operating temp, and the speed needs to vary including stop and go city. It does not have to be all in one trip but the engine must be warmed up first.

I have a 2.4 diesel 375 nm model and i have been told that the problem is solved by installing the correct fuel filter. Mine loses all power and stops, and the curly light comes on, and I switch it off and start it again. It works every time but is bloody dangerous on a hill when passing someone and towing a trailer.
