Question about 1990 Honda Accord
My honda is stuck in park until I put the key in drive shaft release, then I can move it out of park. Can you tell me whats happening?
When you step on the brake pedal it energizes a solenoid located next to the shifter (under the console) that disengages a mechanical stop which prevents you from putting the car in gear w/o the brakes applied. Safety First. If that solenoid goes bad you will experience this. The brake pedal switch could come into play here as well but not certain of this. are there any other symtoms such as brake lights don't work?
