Question about Ford Windstar
I have occured the same problem in my truck. It would die on me when stopping. What i did do was replace the spark plugs. When i pulled them out i was shocked to see what i had done to my viechle. Typically you want to replace good spark plugs every 50,000-75,000 miles.
Another thing i did was cleaned my batery terminals which seem to help it quite a bit.
Another thing i did was put a better grade gas in the truck because lower grade gas causes knocking and backfire.

Have your feul filter changed.its possible that it is clogged and not letting enough feul pressure under a load .but just enough at an idle or cruising speeds
