Need to disassemble the steering wheel to access the horn button / switch -- there's something loose in there which is cauing a closed circuit when the steering wheel is turned. May be solved by tightening or the horn button / switch may need replacing.

What cause the horn to blow on it own or go off with out pressing the center piece on the steerling wheel?

Usually a bad clock spring under the steering wheel. Does it stop if you rotate the steering wheel? The clockspring is a mylar tape that conducts power to the steering wheel switches. It winds up and unwinds as you turn the wheel. The conductors can short or open. Or, you could have a bad horn switch, but pretty rare. Clockspring is more common.

You should replace all the wires that are in that steering column. Use OEM wire harnesses. There is a clock spring wire in that column that is bad, The shift indicator is a clip on a piece of string that moves when the column turns with the shifter.

Hi, Trying to locate the fuse for the horn? Is anything else run off that same fuse? I would like to disconnect it do to a short. Sometimes when I turn the steering wheel to the left the horn blows for a...

If you can't find the fuse in the fuse box, try looking in the breaker/ relay box. It is usually a 30 amp, big fuse, for the horn, and there shouldn't be anything with it, but you never know. The breaker box is near the battery or in the engine comp. I don't know exactly where they stuck yours, but most cars are close. Hope this helps.

Horn rings intermittanl while driving

Inside the components of the steering assembly and shaft they have put contacts that touch a ring as the wheel is turned enabling current to flow thru while not having wires to worry about breaking internally from constant back forth motoin of the wheel. It is conceivable that a component in this assembly has broken, especially if the horn blows when you turn the wheel versus driving straight and the horn does not blow. This would be the place to start if i was diagnosing this vehicle. Special tools are needed to remove the steering wheel assembly so if you are unsure of what you r doing have an experienced technician repair this problem.
