Question about 1995 Buick LeSabre

1995 Buick Lesabre runs really rough like all of the cylinders are not firing...Just replaced the wires with no change in performance...any ideas before i take it to the shop?

    I have the same problem. Took my Buick into the repair shop and they did a pressure test on the cooling system. Coolant is getting into the #5 cylinder. It is either the head gasket or the head. It had the 3.8 litre and I am not sure if am going to try to repair it. I was also told by someone that this engine is notorious for intake manifold leaks. I have heard that you can test this by running the engine an running an open propane torch (unlit) along the seal of the intake manifold and the head. If the engine revs, it has a leak.

    My 93 Buick Regal 3.8 has 170,000 and runs rough at idle but great at high speeds. at school no teachers noes what wrong with it. did a vacuum test and was reading low vacuum. i was thinking of the head gasket leaking, but never did a presser test.

    i have a 95 buick lesabre. it runs great but the coolant keeps disappearing. i replaced a bad water pump which stopped the leaking of the coolant but now its like its just mysteriously evaporating. ive been told its the head gasket, and they want 1700 to fix. this seems like an unreasonable amount of money to replace a head gasket and ive been thinking of doing the work myself.. ne suggestions about how to go about doing it?

    car runs baddd under load up hills and such also at times will crank but no start, wait a while and it starts.

Check the psi in the regulator at the fuel rail/ possible bad reg.

Your engine has a set of three coils, round with two spark-plug wires per coil. at about two to three o'clock as you look into the engine bay from the front of the car. replacing one of these at a time may give you the faulty coil without over-buying parts. get one and replace #1, if no change replace #2 and again if no difference replace #3. this just may put the spark back into your relationship with this car.

From the symptoms of the problem and the precautions you have done i think its time to check the EGR valve.Clean your EGR valve and then put it again. How handy you are in ding this?

As the check engine light is on did you scan for error code which will help you more specific to locate the problem.

My buick running on only 4 of 6 cyl. i replaced all the coil packs, plugs, plug wires, and the coil mod and it still has not fix the problem any ideas would help.


replace your distributor. if you already replaced the wires and the plugs and still the 2 cylinders do not work then the only remaining part to replace is the distributor itself.

Sounds as though you need a tune up. if you haven't replaced plug wires in a while you might want to change them also!

Anyone have a 1995 Buick lesabre custom, ignition wiring diagram?


Insofar as your Ignition Wiring Diagram, I hope you're speaking of what's also called the Spark Plug Cables or Firing Order. The proper Firing order for your V-6 is 1-5-3-6-2-4 with the number 1 cylinder being the front spark plug on the left hand side. The left hand side is Odd numbered and the Right hand side is Even numbered, therefore number 2 cylinder is the 1st plug on the right hand side of the engine.

I have a 2000 buick lasabre that has been running very rough, my son put computer on and it said bad o2 sensor, he replaced sensor, and it is still running rough, but the computer now says cylinder 6...


plugs and or wires.
for some reason the spark is jumping out of the wire or plug.
the plug insulater may have a crack in it.
also use a carb spray to clean out the throttle body at the throttle plate.
all the black carbon will build up around the throttle plate and restrick airflow at an idle position.

2000 buick lesabre runs rough. It started running rough and the I drove it around for a while and it was okay for several weeks and then started running rough again and staying that way.


First I would change where I buy gas.And perform a tun up,start with the spark plugs,if it runs okay your done if not #2 change your wires.And clean your throttle body with carb cleaner.

Have you checked fuel pressure? How about spark on all 6 cylinders? Maybe a coil?
