All of the lights on the car are working fine, except the tail lights. My brakes work, as the turn signals and flashers, but when i turn the running lights on, only the fronts work, not the rear. Ive checked the fuses and they are all good as well as the bulbs-

I have the same issue... My Dash and Tail lights are out... The I don't know whats causeing it... but when I replace the fuse that governs them, it blows... I can pop in a larger fuse and they will all come on... but a little dimmer and the fuse will begin to burn and melt after a couple minutes...

The tail lights also don't work. I put in new bulbs that are correct. fuse is good. Backup and brake lights all work. Any other ideas? Thanks

What's wrong with them?

If the bulbs are good and the fuses aren't blown, it could be that the bulbs (for whatever reason) are not making good contact in the sockets, or there could be broken wires (did the lights ever work for you? was the car in an accident at some point?), or a bad headlight switch.

A question though - did you verify that the bulbs are the proper bulbs for the car? If you take them out and see what type they are (ie, 1156, 1157, 168, etc - the number will be on the bulb), you can go into an auto parts store and use their catalog to look up the bulbs and ensure you have the right ones. If your taillight bulbs also double as brake light bulbs, they'd have two filaments in them (one for brakes, one for taillights - check on that for sure). If one of those filaments burned up, but the other was OK, it may look like the bulbs are OK when they aren't. Or, if the bulbs are supposed to be dual filament but someone put in the wrong bulbs (such as a single-filament bulb) then your tails wouldn't be able to function as both taillights and brake lights.

It could be the light switch has a short. try replacing the switch or at least checking it with a volt meter.

I have a 1992 Buick La Sabre Custom. My brake lights are not working but taillights, turn signals and hazard lights do work. Switch ok. fuse ok. ????????

if your fuse is good. and you have power at the brake light switch and when you hit the brakes you have power coming out the otherside of brake light switch/which would be the white wire/ check that the white wire is sending power up the turn signal switch. if theres power there and your turnsignals work? im afraid that your turnsignal switch is bad rare but it has been known to happen.

The LeSabre had the same body style up until 1999 in the rounded style. So it should fit just fine.
