Car Stops running while driving

94,000 miles. I drive a stick shift (manuel). I am driving along and the car stops running. No unual noises and it dosen't stall. The radio and AC and all the lights still work fine. Temp is normal. I pull over and turn the key. It starts and then just dies. I repeat again with the same result. If I give it some gas while starting it stays running just fine.

99 Accord. Doing the same thing to me now and seems to be getting worse. Still looking for a solution. Might try replacing ignition switch. Funny thing is, this just started happening about 6 or 7 months ago.

I have a 99 accord as well and it does the same thing. When I am drviing it just dies for no reason. It takes about 1 or 2 minutes before it will start again. From reading a couple of forums I thought it was the ignition switch. I replaced it and I still have the same problem.

I have this problem but it has been only recently. My car has 217000 miles on it and had no such problems until around 210000. My car is an automatic and feel that it is more like a fuel problem, rather than an electrical one. Any suggestions?

Believe it or not, Honda actually made a piece of sh*t car, its a mass ignition recall mine has been turning off on me since the
the day after i bought it brand new, at the time they did'nt know what was wrong with it. After the waranty was up I called honda to complain and tell them it had turned off on me on the freeway and I hit the center divider and the lady at Honda in a very annoyed voice told me she would need a police report and i would need to some how prove it. In the end Honda chaged it for free and as of today as of 10 minutes ago it still has the same problem sitting in my driveway. good luck!

My neighbor's 1998 Cavalier is making a strange noise. It has automatic transmission, new tires, and 155,000 miles. When idling at a stop, it sounds fine, but when it starts movig and hits 15 or 20 mph...

Try getting on an open road, get up to about 45 MPH or where ever the noise is loudest. Put the car in neutral and turn the engine off. You can roll in a straight line for a long time. Make sure nodody is around you. If the sound stops when the engine is off, then the noise is coming from the motor. If the sound is still there, its got to be coming from the tires. Id guess a wheel bearing.

1997 dodage grand caravan sport, when shifting from park to drive it makes a ticking noise, do you know what this could be? the car shifts fine and runs fine 126,000 miles.

The electronic shift solenoids in those transmissions make a ticking noise when shifting, same as when you slow down and stop, you will hear it as well, if it's quiet and your window is down. My guess is what your hearing is normal but if worried, stop at any reputable mechanic shop, or dealer and they will confirm it, free of charge.
