We replaced the starter and spark plugs. Vehicle wouldn't start until it was jump started. Once it ran for a long period would not start. What is another option??

There are three things ANY vehicle needs to start! Fuel, Spark, Air! I would start with spark! it would be easier to check spark if you buy an extra spark plug! Pull the spark plug wires off one at a time and plug the extra spark plug into it. Set the wire and plug down away from moving parts! have someone crank the engine over once or twice. if the plug sparks, plug it back in and move to the next one! If it still has problems with a newer battery, I would rule out alternator! Follow the fuel line in the engine and look for a little screw on plastic cap on the fuel line! This is a pressure valve. After turning over the engine a few times, take a pen or small screwdriver and press this valve in. Fuel should spray out pretty good! If it has low pressure, fuel pump may be bad!
1.The battery is dead, use a volt meter to verify, jump or recharge if necessary 2.The connections at the battery and/or starter are bad, clean 3.The starter could be bad, remove, test, replace if indicated 4.Only ran across this once, very remote, engine seized, due to vehicle age, replace vehicle
well if it starts with starter fluid then you need to change the fuel pump and fuel filter, if it had anything to do with spark it would not start with starter fluid.
Sounds like a problem I had. I needed a new fuel pump. A mechanic gave me a way get around it for a few days until I could get it brought it. He told me to turn the key to on (only far enough where the radio comes on) count to like 15 and then turn it back to off and then start it. That seemed to work for a bit and kept me from killing my starter. Once the fuel pump was replaced though, it ran great. I wouldn't suggest doing the "key" thing for an extended period though. Like I said I just did that a few days or so. I hope this helps you.
Hi
Pop into to your local garage and have a diagnostic test carried out.
Listen to the advise given. It may save you lots of money, especially if you start the "guessing" game.
It does sound like a part may be blocked or failed though, but the sytem needs to be tested thoroughly first.
Good luck
