My mother has a 2001 intrigue and her turn signals sometime work and sometimes don't. She took it in and they replaced an expensive unit in the steering column that controls the signals. The problem is still there and they don't know what else it could be?????????

I have a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero GLS that has the same problem. Turn signals don't work or work intermittently. Sometime if I trun on the 4-way flassher then turn it off the turn singnal will start to work again.

There is a recall on the alero for this issue. We had the same with our 01 alero and they fixed it under the recall.

I had the same problem. What I did was made sure either the left or right turn signal is on or at least the handle is up or down and push the emergency button for both signals to come on and then push the emergency button again to turn them off. It should be working. If it dont work the first time, the try it again. This worked for me.

It's the flasher unit which is part of and attached to the emergency flasher switch. You need to replace the flasher switch. Cost is about $25 for the part and & $50-60 for labor.

The turn signal relay, which is mounted on the back of the 4-way flasher has malfunctioned and needs to be replaced. Just got ours fixed this morning for under $75.

Turn the hazard light on and off quickly and the turn signal will work again.

Seems your flasher is going out. If i am correct the switch for your hazard lights is also your flasher. One way to find out is when it stops working tap the hazard light switch and see if it starts to work again. If so there is your problem. Hope this helps

Possibly a defective turn signal relay. Replace the relay and see if the problem goes away.

Turn Signals work intermitently on 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup

My turn signals worked fine until last night when I ran my battery down and had to get a jump. I realized right away that my turn signals suddenly didn't work. My theory hasn't been tested, but I am going to unhook my battery cables and reconnect again to see if that does anything. If not, I'll check out the steering wheel and that big square thing by the fuses. Thank you for all the posts and I was so happy to find this web page!

Good fuses no turn signal

I believe your car has 2 flashers, one hazard, one turn signal. Check the turn signal flasher to see if it's bad. Located driver side, upper steering column under dash. To make sure u check the correct flasher, try using the hazards after removal of flasher, so u know u have removed the correct one. Let me know how u do.
