Question about 1998 Nissan Sentra
Look for the tipover switch in the owners manual. they can be set off by a hard bump and then , no fuel to the engine until it is reset.

If you did not have that problem before you changed the pump, I'd definitely take a look at that first, though the way the pump is designed, I can't see why that would happen...Most problems are with the tank float not reading correctly. One possibility is that the pump is defective...they are kept cool by the fuel in the tank...at half full, if pump is marginal, it may be overheating and shutting down.
