Question about Ford Aerostar

1 Answer

On a 1993 Aero Star Extended van even though I have had the car retro fitted to 134 with all new parts the system shows that when it gets hot the car pressure registers 350 to 375 and as a result a value opens to relieve pressure and release freon. I have had numerous experts look at this situation but no one can seemingly figure why the pressure continues to run so high.

91 Mercedes 300 E has R12 ac system that is no longer blowing cold. A faint bit of cool air sometimes shows up but it can hardly be called cool. Is there any additive out there compatible with R12?

Propane does the same as R12. I don't recommend it though(highly volatile). Best to convert to 134R. Last time I converted an R12 system was about 10 years ago. I would tell you how to do it, but I could get in trouble because you have to vent out the R12 first. I don't even know of a shop that has an R12 unit anymore. Good for you, they still have the adapters to go over your ports and the 134R today is compatible with the old systems oil. No need to change the compressor, dryer, and expansion valve.

How to convert ac over to 134 system

Your best bet is to visit your local auto parts store (autozone is my choice). The retro fit kits are around 20-25 dollars, and they contain everything you need. Just make sure you first dont have a leak.

What type of freon does a 1993 chevy g20 van use?

I think 1995 was the change over year to R-134a. Your car should have R-12. If it has small threaded acme fittings its R-12. The R-134 fittings are different sizes and have snap lock fittings similar to an air hose.

Where is the low side service port on a 88 caravan? Putting R-134A in

TAKE VECHICLE TO A GARAGE THAT DO AIR CONDITIONER WORK BECAUSE 1988 MODEL MORE LIKE HAS R-12 FREON. THAT WONT MIX WITH R - 134 REFRIGERANT THAT WOULD DAMAGE YOUR AC SYSTEM.

Where is the 1993 dodge dakota low side ac valve location, 318 v8......

Hello chopspage
I will assume that the a/c system has been changed over from R-12 to
R-134, if not, it needs to be done before going any further.
That said the low side service port is located on the compressor head or
on the suction line from the comp. head. With the R-134 system installed correctly the charge line will only fit the low side as the hi side
has a larger fitting. Hope this helps.

I have a 1993 Chevrolet c-1500 truck with A/C. It is not blowing cold. I noticed that the sticker on the compressor says R-12. What can I put in that is safe?

You Must Change over to 134-A and this Requires Replacment of All Internal Rubber "O" Rings
Although I Have Purchased the ADAPTER Fitting and Just Filled My Personal Vehicles With 134-a With No Problem

HI, To know exactly the tipe of refrigerant you have.
You need a machine to recover and identified.

But if you want to know the tipe of fitting you have
Only are 2 on cars.
R-12 the fitting look like bolt with thread outside.
the service hose go in threaded. to connect
R-134 they are fitting called quick connector.
Because you put making a litle pressure.on it to connect.
They don't show thread.

If your car is made after the six month of 1993. is R-134
if yor car is made before the six month of 1993 is R-12
