Passenger side, undeneath, next to fuel tank.
Your 2002 Chevy Tracker (2wheel drive and 4wheel drive are the same) with the 2.5L V-6 has an inline fuel filter located on the passenger(right hand) side of the vehicle. Just behind the wheel well on the underside of the vehicle next to the fuel tank is where you'll find it. If you've never changed a fuel filter on a fuel injected vehicle, watch out for the quick connect fittings as you could damage the flexible plastic fuel line. Most auto parts stored sell tools to disconnect the fittings, but I have better luck with fingers, pliers and maybe a small flat bladed screw driver. Also, you'll need to de-pressurize the system before removing the old one or fuel could spray out when disconnected.
what i would do is look on craigslist or ebay for someone selling used parts off their Suzuki vitara or Chevy Tracker and just buy the whole differential and swap it in. That will cost you less than buying those internal parts if you can even find them and will be less time involved.
go to an auto recycler website and get the interchange part number then just look around for the newest used part and/or the one out of the lowest mileage vehicle. same interchange part number means it will fit. i would pay some attention to whether your vehicle and the donor vehicle are the same number of drive wheels in case there is a chance of different ratios.
I believe the Pontiac Montana, and the Oldsmobile Silhouette. The best thing to do is call a salvage yard and they have all the info on what years and models of vehicles will fit or interchange.Hope this helps.Good lock.
