Where is the blower motor resistor on a 2001 dodge stratus

I am actually changing mine now. It is located behind the glovebox. You have to remove the glovebox on the passenger side.

removing glovebox: Open the glove box.
Detach the ******** the left or right. It keeps the glovebox from swinging straight down. It is hooked on the dashboard trim with a U-shaped molded hook. The hook is soft plastic so you can push on it without snapping it. After the hook is detached, allow the glovebox to swing straight down. Pick up everything that falls out. Now you can get to the resistor. If you want to take the glove box off the rest of the way, unhook it from 3 hinges.
Bend the glovebox until the right hinge unsnaps.
Do the same to the left.
Then pull the box off the center hinge.

Blower stopped in 2001 Dodge Stratus

check fuse. If ok there are resistors in the blower housing that give the different speeds to the motor when you select speeds at the switch. They regularly fail (burn out)

Yes it could be ether or, check the relay, the resistor and the blower. try using a tester to check the wires to the blower motor and see if you get any power. Electical is very difficult to figure out some times.

It sounds like the blower resistor has gone bad and also check your fuse and relay to the blower. When the resistor go's bad it's a direct feed to the 12 volt junction box under the hood and if the blower stop working the fuse or the relay has gone bad. At worst the resistor and blower motor needs to be replaced. You can buy both at Auto Zone and they will have the step by step instruction to get the job done with common tools. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to answer any questions you may have friend.
