Question about 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

2 Answers

Power Seats I have a 2000 Blazer we just got and the power seats which have the memory, heat and lumbar worked great. Our son put a new motor in it and now the seats don't work. The manual doesn't give you much help as to if it is a fuse or what. Any ideas or idea of where to look to resolve? I havent been able to drive it yet cause the seats won't move and i'm short HA. Thanks for your help

You did not mention why did you replaced the motor at first.

but electric motor would run if you have power and switching. so what you have to test are;

do you have power going to the seats before the switch.
next does your switch are ok to transfer the power to the motor?
then check if trhe power is going to the motor but the motor does not turn..
the motor could have been installed incorrect..

let me know what u found out..

i hope i was able to help and fix it..

tnx

It is circuit breaker not afuse, it should be located where the relays are, possibly under the glove box.

Try also disconnecting the battery for 1 minute and reconnecting, as sometime the circut breaker gets jammed.

The the circuit breaker for the seats must return 30A if tested, it is located in thefuse box and should be indicated. There is here is a also a seat module that needs to be tested and it is located under the drivers seat, this can only be tested with a scanner. You should have tested all this compunents before replacing the motor, if the mor had not been tested it could have been OK.

The front seats for our 2003 Escalade will not move forward or backward and the heat control for the front seats will not work.

Does your Escalade have memory seats ?
There are 2 options of power seat systems available in full size trucks. The 6 way driver and passenger power seats, and 8 way driver and passenger power seats with driver memory. For the driver memory seat operation refer to Memory Seats Description and Operation . Power seats without memory are completely controlled through the power seat switch. Battery voltage is supplied to the power seat switch through the power seat circuit breaker. While the seat adjuster switches are in an inactive state the switch contacts are closed to the power seat switch ground circuit. When a power seat switch is pressed to an active state the switch contact is closed to the battery voltage supply circuit. Each seat adjuster motor is controlled by the power seat switch through 2 motor control circuits. The seat adjuster motors are bidirectional and the direction of adjuster motor rotation is determined by which of the adjuster motor control circuits is switched to battery voltage while the other remains grounded.

Where is the location of the power seat circuit breaker on a 2001 s10 blazer lt?

I think that more than likely wher eit draws the power in the fuse box the circuit feed to the fuse is burnt out ,this is often a strip on the back of the fuse box that runs across the frrd to the fuses so check for a feed in the fuse box on the fuse for the power seat

Power seat controls are not working

First of all, check under the seat where there should be a cluster of wires. Sometimes if the power seat is used alot by sliding back and forth, without this cluster of wires being secured, occassionally a wire can get cut.
The runners on which the seats move are metal and cut wires easily. Secondly, the plug also located under the seat could have gotten wet or accidently came unplugged from someones feet in the back or objects and debris.
Another possibilty that will keep power seats from working is the power seat motor. In most cases, this small electrical motor is located directly under the power seat control panel or very nearby
Also you could check the fuses in the fuse box, located directly above the driver's left foot area. Power seats are usually on thier own circuit which means if the power seat fuse is blown, that is the only malfunction that will be noticed, versus other circuit which have many power items on one circuit. For example dash light, clock, and temp lights don't work, one fuse will fix the problem. Power seats operate on one fuse circuit which could have one or more fuses depending on the options of your seats. E.g. heated or not, lumbar, etc.

Seat will not move forward or backward...

if motor seemed to slowly get worse over time then there is a great chance that the motor is gone. You will have to unplug the motor and test for power at the motors connector. if the power is good when switch is activated then the motor is dead, but if no power is found then you either have a bad switch or connector or a wiring harness problem. It will not be the fuses since the driver and passenger seats are the same. also one more thing to check is if your vehicle has memory seats then if no power is found at motor, this memory module mounted to seat could be the problem..

2000 GMC Jimmy Power seat stopped working

Left side of the dash, to the right of the IP fuse block. Its a 25 amp circuit breaker, an aluminum cased breaker. CHECK FOR POWER ON THE SEAT SWITCH "A" TERMINAL AND GROUND ON THE "D" TERMINAL. IF YOU HAVE POWER AND GROUND THE SWITCH IS BAD.

2000 Blazer power seats

i dont thing there is something to do with the power seats when you blew an engine, plus the power locks too.

im thingking, when you put the engine, a lot of wires and fuse boxes are in the engine compartment, you could probably disconnect some wire that are on the way on changing the engine and forgot to put the wires back together.

that is the only thing i could think of..

i hope i answered your questions...

tnx
