Question about Honda Accord

My 92 honda lx is idling too low. it also has a bad vibration,felt thru the steering wheel, during idle it also has little power. i've changed plugs,wires,& cap but no improvement.

I would try rotating the tires to see if the vibration goes away. If it does, then you'll know for sure it's a bad tire. If it remains, then the steering parts and wheel bearings should be checked to be sure they are good and replace any that are bad.

Your vehicle has electronically controlled engine mounts

There is a control solenoid that cycles on and off to counteract engine vibration. This solenoid is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

if this is under warranty I would suggest taking it to the dealer and say "Fix it and call me when it's ready." You can also call Honda Customer Service, the number is in your owners manual, file a complaint and request a meeting with the Factory Representative. He will be able to resolve the problem.

Vibrations during idling


which engine.??? never post lacking engine ,here is why.
1.3 L G13B I4

Ill answer in the generic and for GAS engines. only.
that is illegal RPM, the ECU regulates it to 800 all the time
that means the ECU can not regulate the RPM now, for many reasons.
and sure it vibrates too low, that is normal for all 4cylinders to do that.
no bad engine mounts never lower RPM to 600, ever.
they dont control idle speed at all.
the #1 reason for most cars to idle too low are:
1: EGR leaks, (clean it)
2: ISC stuck closed (electric idle speed acututor dirty) clean it.
3: gross misfiring , caused by bad spark or bad fuel mix.
4: low compression on 1 or more cylinders (real low) Do compression test at WOT. throttle.

Go check your power steering fluid level and watch belt turn at idle to see if it is tight and turning smoothly.Pulley could be giving resistance.mAYBE BAD POWER STEERING PUMP OR LEAK.

Idles to low


Clean the throttle body, and check for a bad rear engine mount as this is what usually causes the bad vibration your are getting.

Inatallation 92 honda accord power steering pump


Hey, here's the procedure, disable air bag, if equipped w/ one, disconnect the pump return hose from the reservoir and place the end in a large container. Plug the port in the reservoir. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel lock to lock several times, until fluid stops running from the hose. Turn off engine immediately. Re-attach hose. Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses at the pump. Remove the drive belt. Remove the mounting bolts/nuts and remove pump.
Install in reverse order. Adjust belt tension,fill ps reservoir and bleed any air from the system (to bleed air from system, fill reservoir, start engine and allow to idle, turn wheel from side to side all the way several times. Shut off, fill if necessary.
. Tighten bolts to : Thru bolt 30 ft lbs., mounting nut 16 ft lbs.

Car vibrates at idle.


you may have a pulley out of balance. ie harmonic balancer, steering pump, alternator. try increasing idle, set it at 850-900.
