Start by recharging your system. If you want to do it yourself. Most auto parts stores and hardware stores have recharge kits. Purchase a kit with a gauge to prevent overfilling.

Get a $10 MAF CRC cleaner to clean MAF sensor and throttle body, start here first since it's cheap.

Headlights go off after a few minutes of driving.New switch installed. The hi-beam switch will hold the brights on if I hold the switch back.Brake lights work. After I stop and turn off motor, wait a few...

Brake light are on a different circuit with the dash panel and parking lights. There often is a resetable temperature breaker in the light switch. This protects against high current. Are the bulbs standard? Was the car ever hit in the front? Can you try unplugging one lamp at a time and see if one is causing the over current? If the light switch is on the steering column lever then it's probably controlling a relay. The problem could be in the relay.

The car fires but stops immediately

I had a problem with a 97 Achieva recently.Someone else replaced the PCM/ignition switch and passlock sensor.I replaced the ICP.Engine would turn over but wouldn't start and the security lamp was dim and flashing and then it would go solid.I tried the wait 10 minutes thing but,the light would never go off! I put the original passlock sensor back onto the lock cylinder. But this is what fixed the problem.I cleaned the contacts on the black wires and green on the ignition switch with tv tuner cleaner! After I cleaned those contacts the security light was flashing brightly. So I turned the key to run and left it there. After a few minutes it stayed on solid.I waited about 10 minutes but the light never went out.So I turned off the switch and then tried starting. It started right up and the security lamp flashed and then went off.Has started every time since.Note:I also scraped the pins that I cleaned with the cleaner with a knife.

My 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Will die going down the road. Sometimes it starts back up without me touching the key.other times I have to wait a few minutes before it will crank again.Any suggestions? Thank...

I've got to be reading this incorrectly...You are driving, the engine turns off...you pull off the road? And then without touching the key the engine re-starts, but you haven't touched the key? Or, sometimes you need to sit there for a few minutes and then turn the key to start it?
