HYUNDAI HI, pls, l can't replace the fan belt

the adjustment is done by the idler pulley. loosen the nut that holds the pulley on. adjust on or off by the bolt immediately behind the idler pulley. most adjustments are right when the longest section of belt between 2 pulleys can be depressed about the thickness of the belt

Need an photo or a diegram for my 1974 318 power wagon the belts how they go on with after market AC. the AC sits where the real one would if installed from the factory,there bis no smog pump on this power...

Master sergeant if you wrap a string around the gears and hold one end of the string on the belt pulley you can measure the belt and go to a parts store and buy one long enough. You u have an old your compressor it's a 1/2 drive belt some were 3/8's an inch need to put belt in groove and needs to go 3/4 into the groove, being that old of a pick up with a after market York compressor you would have to go to alldatadiy.com or York compressor.com the compressor company and they can give you the diagram but will ask for the vin #. Thank you for your service sir. If you need more help let me know.

After timming belt chance

Hi Wilmer

Have you checked the compression on no 3 cylinder ?

Sounds like you might have a bent valve.

Do that first and let me know the outcome.

Good Luck !

Don´t forget to give me a FixYa rating if you think I have been of help, thanks.

Squeaky fan belt

Hi, the problem is probably caused by the crankshaft pulley! Have it replaced because it will certainly break down within a short period and can cause severe damge to your car.

Starting

Hi,

Initially, pls check:
  • ECU;
  • cam/crank position sensor;
  • ignition module, distributor, rotor, distributor cap;
  • alarm, security and/or immobilizer.
Try checking likewise the electrical connectors and verify that your ignition system is receiving +12VDC when the ignition switch is turned to ON.

Worst case scenario is timing belt

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Toyota Land Cruiser check timimg Belt

Hi,

I am assuming that you have a series 80 diesel engine and that it has run for about 100,000 kms hence the warning light and the changing of the timing belt. Based on the instructions of its repair manual you need to "remove the grommet off from the speedometer and turn off the lamp by pushing the warning light reset switch, then replace the grommet." Alternately, you can try to reset the entire computer of the vehicle by removing the battery cables for a couple of minutes. Pls note that some car radios/head units would revert to security default (ask for a code) when power is completely removed.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
