Hi,

you can try marking (taping and marking) then undoing the fuel injector wire harnesses one by one to see if you have a shorted injector, that can cause that, or a shorted coil pack can cause that too, you can try the same thing on that. If it isnt either of those then I would recommend taking it in rather than nickel and diming yourself. Good luck with your baby!

SOURCE: 20 amp fuse keeps blowing engine won't start, fuse

Could be a Starting system issue.... the starter relay, solenoid, or the starter motor could have a dead short. This is common among all vehicles. If you can turn the key on...without turning it to start and every thing is working and the fuse you mentioned did not blow, then the culprit is in the starting system. As you have seen the fuse blow when key is turned to start. Your best bet is to disconnect the battery and remove the starter. Take the starter to your favorite auto parts store and have them test it. Also listen for the fuel pump to run for a few seconds when the key is turned to the on position.

SOURCE: blowing engine control fuse on 94 grand cherokee

You might have a wire from the engine control circuit that has rubbed through on the engine block somewhere. Do a visual inspection of the engine wiring, and look closely for any damaged insulation. I have seen a problem like this before. Good Luck!

What causes fuse #5c in my 1996 buick park ave. to keep blowing?

A fuse that keeps blowing is probably the result of a wire that is grounded unintentionally. This would be the result of an exposed power wire touching the engine or body and grounding out. This would cause an excessive power draw and blow the fuse. The other option is that the fuse was lower amps than the original one. check the fuse diagram to see if the amps match up.

The fuse that keeps blowing is related to your ignition. Get the faults read at a shop and find what is triggering fault and that will lead you to your problem. It's a whole lot easier than throwing parts at it, and cheaper.

99 vw jettal 2.0 gas fuse 29 15amp fuse keeps blowing-no spark unpluged coil and fuse keeps blowing. help please

Thats the fuse for the ECU, engine control module, and is a 15amp for gas 2.0. i would locate the ECU which is under the center of the plenum in the engine compartment and disconnect the long plug. Check for green discoloration on the multipin connector. Sometimes moisture will get in there and short some of the pins together. Leave ECU unplugged and replace the fuse. If it still blows cause is between the fuse and the ECU.

The ECM1 fuse blowing usually indicates that the fuel pump wires shorted inside the tank. If you drop the tank and remove the module, you will probably find the insulation burned off the gray pump wire.

You say it eventually allows you to put new fuse in, do you mean when it sits for a while, a new fuse won't blow, but if it blows and you immediately replace it, it blows again instantly?
