The settings of the dash vents are out of the dash customer controller as the links may be misaligned when the dash was taken out. So it is necessary to remove the dash and reset the linkages making sure that the vents are aligned to open flows as desired.

The heater / a/c vents are controlled by vacuum,or electronic devices. What is happening in your Trailblazer is the Vent Doors are either stuck in a open or closed position thus only having air flow to the floor vents only..The actual vent door is located in the heater box next to the blower motor.

Why my heat works on my 2004 Chrysler Sebring but it only blows out from my front dash only and not the floor or Front dash defrost?

More than likely a bad vacuum or electric actuator, or bad vacuum line. Actuators control the mode doors to change from floor, vent, and defrost.

2005 tralblazer what makes the air blow change from vent to defrost to floor where are vacuun lines located ?

There are no vacuum lines, all of the air directions and movements are controlled by doors in the HVAC system, and these doors are driven by actuator motors. These parts sometimes wear out and require replacement, which can be a difficult job that involves taking the dash apart.

2004 trailblazer dash vents fail to blow heat. All other vents work normally. I could not locate a vacuum hose that I thought might operate the upper dash vents. what do you suggest? Thank you.

this vehicle has electronic acuators that move the doors and do not use vacuum. the mode door actuator is bad causing this problem. there is a defrost acuator that works the defrost position and a mode door that works floor/vent operation. the defrost moves and diverts airflow up defrost vwents this is why you can still have defrost and floor.

2004 Silverado 2500HD a/c is blowing out the defrost and will not switch to dash vents? When I turn the truck off and back on it will blow from floor vents, then dash vents, then blow out defrost vents....

Sounds like it is going through the recalibration process. We run into this issue when replacing the batteries on these. In the underhood fuse block there is a HVAC fuse. Pull it, wait 30 seconds, put it back in, and turn the key to the run position. You should hear the vents moving around. wait for about a minute or so, do not touch anything. If the self test/calibration passes everything will return to normal. If after several attempts you can not get it to return to normal than there is a problem with the HVAC system that will need to be resolved.

Dash vents will not blow air. Defroster and floor vents blow fine.

Is it a new vehicle? I had a new vehicle that had the same problem. Answer was that the holes weren't punched out of the vent.

Dash vents not working

It may be the actuator not working properly. Should be above the accelerator pedal to the right.
