Technically you can wait until it breaks, however you are then stuck someplace you don't want to be or at a bad time. If it is making noticable noise, I would replace it ASAP. MM85

and is not possible by any human to answer EOL , end of life.

that depends if its Honda belt, or Gates or some china carp
sold off fleabay.
and air temp, where you live, Climate, Pheonix. or Canada?

ok it seems this belt is the first ever to be changed out. Gates is the best.
my online links shows 5 engine options, 1.6L to 3L.
that begs the question #1 is my engine interference type,
if you go to the GATES (tm) ecatalog, you can see if it is or not. using engine type. option as your selection.
i pulled up the maintenance tab and it states, 105K miles.
but may vary by engine, and for sure if belt is 2nd time.
look up this info carefully.
and can vary with cars driven extensively in stop and go traffic.
hot , and long engine hours, but low miles.
i see no chain, on the 5 engines, alldata shows 5 belts.

105,000 miles best case USA.
168,000 meters 168K meters

urgent.? 2.3L is interference 105/60k (60k miles severe usage)
3L?
i look at Gates and bingo Interference.
so URGENT.
is it urgent.
easy answer?, if it looks bad, it is. get it out of there.
cracks, fraying, distortions of any kind.
only reality counts. (yours)

1991 ACURA LEGEND MAKES SQUEALING NOISE WHILE DRIVING

If you think the noise is coming from the engine, you could take each belt off one at a time and run the engine to see if the noise stops.

How long will a timing chain last on a passat with a v6 engine

Hi,
Actually the timing chain is for a lifetime, the only thing you replace is the chain guide and the tensioner.

Hope that helps you out!

Is it a timing belt on olds intrigue 2000, 3,5L?

this engine uses a timing chain, chains require no replacement unless the engine is being repaired or the chain or spockets fail

Ford tdci 2.4 diesel engine as fitted to 1994 LTI TX2 taxi. Constantly replacing timing chain and tensioner. Five replacement chains and tensioners in 140,000 miles. Engine is serviced every 6000 miles....

cant help the only ford 2.4 engine diesel i know of is the york engine and that has a timing belt not a chain.Sounds like you could be a bit fastidious because all timing chains show wear on the tensioner, causing a bit of a rattle but unlike a belt it will not break just get a bit noisey, answer to that is to turn the radio up a bit

When should you replace timing belt on Toyota Sienna van? It's a 1999 model with 210,000 kms on it and I need a new water pump. Should I replace the timing belt at the same time?

Somewhere between 90,000 mil;es and 120,000 miles you should do your timing belt. But first make sure you do not have a timg chain. If you have a timing chain, you never have to change it at all.
