Check your power steering rack and pinion actuator they seem to burn out and the wires come off on these year and model taurus I replaced my whole rack and had to go to a salvage yard to find a replacement actuator I found all the taurus from 93 to 96 had the wires broken off on the actuators and the cars were in pretty good shape to be in a salvage yard I belive this is why these cars are junked they won't start and they get toss in the trash also ford does not make this part any more you should check your power steering actuator for broken wires that could be why your car won't start. good luck

1995 taurus won't start

The dash lights coming on doesn't mean your battery is strong enough to turn the car over. That being said, I would lean towards the starter also. I would just have the battery chkd out before you go replacing other things just to be sure. Good luck to you.

I have a 2000 Ford Taurus. My wife left the radio running with the ignition off for a short while. Now the car won't turn over, won't start, won't jump. There is one click when trying to s

The click you are hearing is most likely the start slenoid making contact, however you should short the large wires @ the solenoid to make certain the starter still doesn't run, if so try tapping the starter with a hammer to shift the comutator a litle and try to start. Even if it now starts the starter will continue to give you problems so the proper fix is change the starter

Civic hard to start, and when started shuts off

Try this first, and lets see what happens. Turn key to on, but not start, then off. do that about four or five times, then try to start. See if it starts, runs, then dies. Let me know. Have you had fuel pressure tested at all? If it doesn't start and run for a short while at least, take air intake hose off at throttle body intake, open throttle and spray a good shot of WD-40 into throttle body, then try to start. If it starts, you have a fuel delivery problem, maybe fuel pump or plugged filter would be first to check. Just because you hear the pump, doesn't necessarily mean it's getting proper pressure to run. Let me know what happens when you try this, and we'll go from there.

1993 ford taurus

sounds like it could be a coil issue after its been sitting for awhile it starts again correct? when its running the coil will warm up and if there is a small crack in it anywhere it will seperate and loose its contact therefore interupting the spark for the engine and it will die. or it could be a bad fuel pump or even cheeper yet check the fuel filter.

elizabethsne, my 2002 taurus just started this today! Have you gotta closer to a fix or is it still doing that?

I'm seeing folks suggesting fuel filter, tune-up, air-filter, and if that doesn't work, possibly a fuel-pump going bad..... i will probably follow that logic to start with, but will keep searching.

thanks.
