I had mine replaced under warranty at 31,000 miles and it is going out again at 72,000. I'm trying to find out if this is a common issue.

I have a 2003 Vibe.  Threeout of 4 bearings failed almost simultaneously at 65,000 miles.  No response from Pontiac as to the problem.  The me chanic suggested junk OEM bearings are the issue

Both of my rear bearings are going out and I need shocks. This must be a common problem.

There is a loud humming noise from front right side which increases the faster I go, both front wheel bearings have been replaced

Sounds exactly like a wheel bearing issue. Possibly one of the wheel bearings is defective. Have them rechecked

Right Front Wheel Bearing

sometimes knucke bearings have different sizes, like one side has 4.5, then the other side is 4.6. just make sure that the components are alligned well and if in case a rubber hammer is available, do use it, just apply more grease on the bearing hub, then try to use the rubber hammer to punch the bearing back. please refer to the picture below for the assembly4bb4e51.jpg

I have a 2008 Toyota matrix with 50k miles. I have a squeak on the right side wheel (I beleive front). I check the brakes on all four tires, all very good. I see nothing, no play in the wheels. Is

If the noise is from 25 thru 45 mph--- then you remove the
front caliper & rotor, set aside & turn the wheel hub bearing
by hand

You will only feel bad bearings doing it that way

Roar on the right side

Its probably the left side, not only because you replaced the right side, but because it changes on right turns.
When you go into a right turn, the bearings on the left side are under more pressure and torque.
The front hub bearing goes bad more often than the axle bearing, so I would expect it to be the left front.

Humming noise right front, would this be a wheel bearing

Hi,

Its a good possibilty,The Bearing will humm ,if no grease in them or very little. I would Stop driving it to save some money cause if its a wheel bearing, it will only get worse and its 1st of all not SAFE,2nd The bearing will also damage your Hub and Spindle, and any other front end parts that heat from the bearing will Damage,Like your Front Brake Rotor and Brake Pads. So .Pull off that wheel and Check it out,You'll have to Pull Caliper and Rotors as Well.

Many times if one side goes out (Wheel Bearing) normally not long before both==I recommend you Change out Wheel Bearings and Bearing Races On BOTH sides.

Hope i have Explained well enough to you. Please let me Know by Voting on The Quality of My Answer and Solutions.
