Hi

I know on the Talon model, if you cycle the ignition switch ON OFF ON OFF ON within 5 seconds, then the power loss/check engine light will flash out the ALDL trouble codes with a 4 second pause in between each trouble code as follows:-

lets say for instance trouble codes 23 and 45 were stored. They would be displayed like this:-

lamp illuminates for 2 to 3 seconds as a bulb check then goes out

lamp then flashes 2 times, pauses, then flashes 3 times

4 second pause

lamp flashes 4 times, pauses, then flashes 5 times.

Worth a try?

Regards

Geordie

Do you hear the air pump run when you start the car? No? Check the A.I.R. pump fuse in the under hood fusebox. if it is blown then you probably need a new air pump motor. If the fuse is not blown then the relay could be the culprit. if you can hear the pump running when you start it the engine then you probably just have some wiring issues from the relay to the ecm it can still work ok but fail the resistance test that the computer runs randomly. Give some more info and I'll help you through this.
Good luck.

p0700 is a generic trans. code, so the problem if it is in the trans. would require further trans diag. so i would scan trans specific codes first. but in most cases when a chrysler tells you it is an internal controller fault you can believe it. just make sure which controller it is telling you has a fault!

The Automatic Transmission Diagnostic System Check is an organized approach to identify a problem created by an automatic transmission. The Diagnostic System Check - Engine Controls in Engine Controls - 4.2L or Diagnostic System Check - Engine Controls in Engine Controls - 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L is the diagnostic starting point for an automatic transmission complaint. The Diagnostic System Check - Engine Controls in Engine Controls - 4.2L or Diagnostic System Check - Engine Controls in Engine Controls - 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L directs you to the next logical step for diagnosing a transmission concern. Perform this check only if there is a driveability complaint or if you have been directed here from another service information section.
Follow the table to help reduce diagnostic time and help prevent unnecessary replacement of good parts.
  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Important: Check for applicable service bulletins before proceeding with this test. Perform this test only if there is a driveability complaint or if you have been directed to this table from another section in the service information.
Important: Do not turn the ignition OFF when performing this diagnostic procedure. Do not clear the DTCs unless instructed by this diagnostic procedure.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

What is a scan tool

A scan tool allows for the OBD II (On Board Diagnostics) codes to be read from the engine computer in a car. These are common electronic diagnostics tools used by automotive technicians. They are usually used when a check engine light comes on to determine the error codes associated with the check engine light.

They almost always connect via a standard plug on the divers side under the dash.

Most automotive parts supplier will check a car with complementary service to determine the codes stored in a customers automobile.

Dodge Durango engine knocking and check engine light

P0300 is a Random Misfire
P0302 #2 Cylinder Misfire
U1120 The code U1120 means, lost wheel distance message. The powertrain control module(PCM) is not
receiving a signal from the anti-lock brake module. The problem could be a short in the bus circuit,
the PCM or the anti-lock brake module. This type of problem is best diagnosed by the dealer or a
local shop with the proper diagnostic scanning equipment. Hope this helps.

Volvo P0717 Input Speed Sensor

The P0700 is not a true fault code, it just means that the powertrain control module has requested the Transmission control module to turn on the check engine light to alert you of a fault. The P0717 is the one you need diagnosed, it is the real problem,.

I suspect you have some loose connections or shorts in the wiring harness. I've had similar strange things happen with an Olds Bravada. Various transmission shifting problems, faults, etc. that all seemed to come from the engine's computer system getting incorrect voltages and readings due to wiring faults/shorts.

Que falla es este codigo P 1727 de una gran cherokee

Hi,
DTC P1727 - 4c hydraulic pressure switch circuit- this is set if pressure switch doesnt close on command from the TCM(transmission control module)
There are wide ranging possible causes:
  • open in trans control relay output circuit
  • intermittent wiring or connector problems
  • internal transmission problem(4th clutch pressure plate)
  • excessive debris in transmission pan
  • incorrect fluid level
  • 4th clutch pressure switch circuit shorted to voltage
  • faulty line pressure sensor
  • poor line pressure sensor connection
  • 5-volt supply open or shorted to ground
  • Faulty TCM

In order to diagnose the exact problem, you will need a diagnostic scan tool with transmission diagnostic capability. You will also need a transmission simulator to hook up to trans in order to test.
Without these REQUIRED equipment, about all you can check is for debris in the transmission pan, and ensuring that fluid level is correct. After that, the only way to determine which of the many reasons for this code being set is with use of above mentioned equipment. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of today's vehicles, including their multiple on-board computers, there are instances when the only way to properly diagnose a problem correctly is with a diagnsotic scanner. Without this, all you can do is replace parts in hope of repairing problem.

My check engine light came on today and I stopped at a local garage. They ran a diagnostic that showed error P1529 / VIA CAN. Can you tell me what the problem is? All the notes on the web speak of just the...

Code P1529 sets in the ECM (Engine Control Module) to advise that the TCM (Transmission Control Module) requested the ECM to turn on the MIL (Malfuntion Indicator Light). What this means is there's a transmission code set in the TCM. You will need a manufacturer specific scan tool to pull Transmission codes and find out what's wrong with the trans. Some aftermarket scanners/code pullers only have the capability to pull Engine codes. -hope this helps

Faulty sensors in my hyundai accent.

Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE and perhaps eventually fix the problem.
