Imobilising car alarm on Hyundai Getz

I have a Hyundai Getz and cannot imobilise the car alarm. The remote will not lock the doors and when i open the door the alarm goes off. The remote light illuminates when i press the button suggesting that it is operating ok. Any suggestions about what the problem is?

It may be worth while changing the battery in the remote as it takes more power to send the frequency to disarm than to illuminate the l.e.d.

Disable hyundai getz alarm

To disable the alarm on a Hyundai Getz, you just need to bypass the hood switch. The alarm circuit thinks the hood is up and will not go into the Arm state.

The switch connects the single wire connected to it to ground when the hood is up.

So you can just connect a wire from the back of the switch to ground. You can fit a switch to enable/disable the alarm if you wish.

This is equivalent to just locking/unlocking the car manually with the key.

Key goes in the driver's lock and only opens the driver's door. Car alarm goes off when door is opened and will not start. Have tried multiple times. Can you help?

Does it have remote central locking. If it does then it needs to be opened with the remote control. By opening the door with the key is the same as picking the lock to the alarm system so it put's on the alarm and imobilise's the car and actavates the alarm. Hope this help's Cheer's

Rear door does not lock when from manual locking or from remote locking the door opens and the alarm goes off . we noticed by accidently opening door when all the other doors were locked .

This is a wire connection problem in the back door or leading to it. First check fuses. Is it an after market alarm system if so it could be poorly fitted. Sorry no easy fix to this one you will have to get it checked by someone who knows what they are doing. Trying to sort it yourself could leave the car imobilised or locked permintaly. Then you will still get someone to fix it with a lot more cost.
