Noisy We bought a new 2005 Equinox 4/2005. Had some minor problems with it the first year. Took it in to the dealer, of course, they couldn't duplicate the noise and found no problems. Warranty expired 4/2008. Brakes were pulsating alittle In May I put new brakes on $200. Now, that pesky noise that the dealer couldn't fix, is going to cost $1500. The driveshaft carrrier bearing is shot. @24,000 miles I can't belive a 30,000 dollar vehicle needs this kind of work already. I was at a dealer picking up a part, talking to the parts guy. He said they already fixed two Equinox's this week for the same problem. Makes one ponder"how is GM building better more reliable vehicles"?

This is one of two main problems. There is an erratic connection on your electronic fuel injection line, the computer box connection to earth or on the main plug, or one of the sensors on the engine is starting to play up, as itself within, is connecting erratically, which will eventually break down completely given time.I suggest as a safety measure replace all the three or four sensors on the engine, plus check the airflow meter(If it has one) as it might save you the inconvenience of getting stuck out in the middle of nowhere and the costs incurred in the event of this happening.Most modern day vehicles are designed to start giving some kind of problem after about 100,000 miles or five years (which ever crops up first, and it seems like your model is about to experience this.Just a little reminder that heat is a major cause of electronic breakdown in any application.So therefore contraction and expansion of any working part can mess one around chronically.I hope I have been of help to you. It does seem a little bit shady. They should have done a full diagnosis on the repairs that were needed and then gotten you're approval before they proceeded with the repairs. If you didn't give them approval to do all that work, then they did it at their own risk. In my opinion you should only pay them for what you approved them to work on. What a hassle...good luck with that.

i believe it is a dealer only item but a parts store may have it. probably cant be driven with this fuse blown

You need to buy a new DRL Resistor, about $85 dealer only of course. It's located on drivers side front wheel well I believe it was towards the front bumper. The part is ceramic, just change it out. Mine did the same exact thing and this will fix it!

I have same issue. I took to Chevy dealer they could not find problem (whats new) then I took to trusted mechanic.
They measured voltage at compressor and found out when idle the voltage dips below manufacturer specs, then when RPMS go up it gets more juice so the compressor then starts to work properly.
Chevy claims its made that way to extend compressor life.

Sounds kind of high to me...I'm assuming they are putting in a new head at that price. I'd get the vehicle back and get estimates from a good shop (not a dealer) that can locate a used head and replace yours. Replacing a head should not take more than a day or two.

I had the same problem with mine at about 20000 miles,took it to dealer and they told me it was a common problem for the mounting bushing for the caliper to go bad.Dealer replaced them and less than 5000 miles later had same problem,they ordered new brackets with new bushings to mount calipers and have had no problems since at 41000 and still have original pads and rotors have not been turned. Don't know if they will do anything after warrantee but mounting bushings are easy to replace and not expensive.

alternator is bad. you have it checked at an auto zone. it can be on or off you car

knock sensor was chainged but the check engin light is still on my 2005 equinox is missing when going up hills at about 65 mph pleas help.
