Question about 2004 Volkswagen Golf

Reset the airbag light

I had my 2003 Golf checked by a mechanic with a VAG-COM for an airbag light. The diagnosis was a bad seatbelt "pre-tractor". Since it was such a simple repair I decided to replace it myself. However, as I'm sure many of you may already know, the indicator light is still on. My question is... Is there a way to reset the indicator light WITHOUT a VAG-COM? Can I just disconnect something long enough to allow the memory to blank out?
I work with military electronics and wiring for a living so I have some skills. I'm willing to give just about anything a shot.

To mask or reset that code you need a man with a box

As there are hundreds of codes being scanned peiodically by the EMU the laptop is the only tool which will do checks and modifications to it.

On some of the newer cars you have to get the dealer to reset the codes if you do an oil change as there is a sensor in the sump which tells the EMU that the sump has been drained ?

All about making sure you go back to the dealer!!

HI....
SORRY. But is not possible to clear the SRS light on your VW.
The only way is with a capable COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC.
for more time you remove the battery the light will stay on.
And if you remove the battery maybe your Radio will Ask for CODE.
But . Really you will need to catact a MECHANIC with the proper Diagnostic computer. for your car.

How can I fix the seatbelt light that keeps flashing after I put on the seatbelt. Flashes the whole time I'm driving.

You may have to replace the female receptical for the seat belt. There may be a switch inside the latch that has gone bad.

What does code n153 mean ]

In the future please be more specific about what you drive. So now I'm going to have to guess what you drive.

OK, 2001 Jetta, three-wire airbag plugs, two wire seatbelt plug (passenger side), four wire seatbelt plug (driver's side). Put in different seats. This is to eliminate the airbag light and restore the order: 1. Connect only positives on airbag plugs with a 4.7Ohm, 1/2 watt, 5% tolerance resistors; 2. Passenger side seatbelt plug: connect with a 2.2K Ohm, 1/2 watt, 5% tolerance resistor; 3. Driver's side seatbelt plug: bundle two positives together (in my case, red and yellow), two negatives together (two browns). Then connect with a 470 Ohm, 1/2 watt, 5% tolerance resistor. 4. Use Vag-Com to clear codes.

Vw golf mk5 airbag fault wires cut under seat reconnected does it require fault reset

You can reset the Airbag ECU only using VAG or similar diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car, even you had repaired first fault wires cut under seat! After all faults erasing from the Airbag ECU the airbag warning light will turn OFF.

Debris inside you seatbelt lock mechanism might set it off, best have it scanned for DTC's using a scan tool for VW's.

no, the pre tensioner goes bad(I say your probably have over 100,000 miles on this car), and it is a problem with dodge caravans, plymouth voyagers. You need to check the chrysler web site for recalls on caravans. this may have been on there,

2003 VW Jetta air bag light and ABS light stays on

no it wont. in order for the air bag light to go off you must get a VW air bag resetter. they sell for about 45 bucks. it will reset the light and crash data. since your airbag light is on the airbags are locked up. once reset they will work again. anymore questions give me an email... andrewlangner@yahoo.com
