My 2001 Ford Focus won't start. There is nothing wrong with the battery. When I turn the ignition switch to start the car all the necessary lights comes on. I would like to know what I need to do to fix this.

I don't believe there is a problem either. Under normal conditions the security light should come on then go off if the correct key is being used. The problem could be the key switch or the neutral safety switch if it is an automatic trans. There are other possible causes.
many things will cause no start problems could have faulty ignition switch.use test light see if power going to starter if not check ignition fuse to starter.if power going to starter, more likely starter solenoid or starter faulty.if ignition fuse okay and starter and solenoid okay still no start problem could be in the ignition switch or inhibitor switch faulty.code scan for faulty theft security system which will also cause no start conditions.
Your battery is most likely dead if your lights go out. Charge or change your battery, but your altenater maybe be bad. It recharges your battery, if it don't work your battery will die..
If this is an automatic, make sure your lever is fully in park, if not this will cause a no start condition. if it is in park, you could have a faulty neutral safety switch or fault in ignition switch. Check the ignition fuses in your fuse compartment especially the one for ignition.
I'm thinking its the battery. Heat kills batteries. You said it wont jump start. That's a dead ringer for a bad battery. It may have enough juice to power some things, but wont run the starter, or the fuel pump, or the ignition(spark). Try a new battery and let me know!
Is the battery fully charged and are the connections clean and tight. Your ignition fuse seems to be blown. Check the big fuses under the hood. Will the headlights come on? will the horn blow? Good Luck!!!
