Question about 2003 Acura MDX

1 Answer

My 2003 Acura MDX has a very noticeable vibration in the front end when I depress the brakes on a hill. I feel the vibration in the steering wheel and the car shakes. Could it be brakes, tires, alignment, or what?

I have the same problem with my '03 MDX. The dealer finally diagnosed it today. The torque converter needs replacement. One dealer and two independent mechanics couldn't figure it out. After reading all the blags, I told the dealer what to look for and sure enough, they were able to diagnose it this time. Go figure . . .

I have an '08 MDX with the same problem. They said the rotors on the brakes needing machining so they did that. It started happening around 15K miles.

Have someone check runout which is .004.  If so, unless they are blue-overheated, cut rotors and replace the pads.

Your rotors are warped. You can have them resurfaced at any brake shop.

Intermittant cruise control on 2004 Acura MDX

Sounds like it is a senor module out of alignment either for the brake or accelerator. should be somewhere around the upper arm of both, try adjusting them may just be out of alignment is all.

Had bad vibration in front end of car when brakes applied, installed new rotors and pads, still have slight vibration when brakes applied.

do u feel the vibration in the steering wheel or in the seat,i bet the most vibration was coming out of the front brakes and a little out of the rear brakes,u might want to change the rear brakes if the vibration is still annoying, also were the front wheels torqued to spec when installed?? if not u might end up with warped front brakes again, hope this helped

I have a vibration when breaking in my nissan titan, how do i fix this

If you are mean that only when you put on the brakes you feel a vibration from the steering wheel. Then you need to make sure your front end is tight, or the break rotors are warped which is most likely the case but you should also feel a pulsation in the brake pedal two. You can jack up the front tires grab the tire from top to bottom then do the same from side to side you should notice if there is excessive amount of play, or movement, if not you probbaly just have warped brake rotors that you can have machined or replaced.

Acura MDX 2008, 6k miles. Steering wheel vibrates when braking hard. Dealer said that rotors needs machining.... Who this can happen with 6k miles brand new MDX??? Is that some kind of known problem of...

There is a break in period and in that buy new rotors may do the same thing. Now that yours are cured (heated/cooled) it would be best to resurface them.

2003 Acura MDX, makes noise and vibration while driving.

If it happens with light accelleration then there's a good chance it's your torque converter. This is one of the few weak points with MDX
