I changed my headlights and they are still not working. If it is a blown fuse where might the headlight fuses be and if it is not just the fuse what might be the problem?

If you have the owner's manual you will find a fuse box diagram in it, if not then investing in a Haynes manual is a good investment as it will contain the diagram plus lots more useful information. Most likely the fuse is blown.

2009 Routan - headlights not working, neither high nor low beam. Can't see that there's a fuse for this. Suggestions? Thank you!

There are a few potential causes for a 2009 Volkswagen Routan's headlights not working, neither high nor low beam. One possibility is that a fuse for the headlights has blown. To check for this, locate the fuse box in your Routan, which is typically located under the dashboard or in the engine compartment. The layout of the fuses will be labeled on the cover of the fuse box. Locate the fuse for the headlights and check to see if it is blown. If the fuse is blown, replace it with one of the same amperage rating.
Another possibility is that the headlight relay has failed. The relay is an electrical switch that is used to turn the lights on and off. If the relay is bad, it will prevent power from reaching the lights. The relay is usually located in the fuse box, and again, the layout of the fuses will be labeled on the cover of the fuse box.
It can also be an issue with the headlight switch, wiring or the bulb itself. It would be best to get it checked by a mechanic.

Headlight fault

You may have blown a fuse, check fuses first then before you try to replace the bulb again check for broken wires or the correct bulb

My lights for a ford escape 2001 wont work

check under the hood for black box, lift the cover off of black box, marked" main fuse and relay boxfuse positions should be marked on underside of the lid to main fuse panel box, that you have just removed.check for a blown headlamp fuse in that box. it's either a blown fuse in that box,or if only one headlights "out" it will be a blown bulb(headlight bulb) it's very unusual for both headlight bulbs to blow at once. so in saying that, look for a blown headlight fuse. thank you for choosing fixya.com.

Dash and tail lights stopped working on my daughters 1991 toyota celica gt. the fuse has been checked and replaced. it was ok. the headlights were recently changed. is it true the dash and tail lights run...

If the tail lights and the dash lights stopped working and the tail light and the panel lighting fuses are both o.k. and you can find no other blown fuses then the problem is most likely the headlight switch.

Headlights and door locks not working

Fuse is probably blown out. Replace fuses for respective functions. Find the fuse box: might be in engine near battery or below steering wheel. open top and check for blown fuses. Try replacing if blown fuses are found. If all fuses are OK then it is very unlikely that all the bulbs are blown.

Lighting systems

Dear Sir/Madam,

  1. Check your fuses. The plastic panel covering the fuses should have a diagram detailing what each fuse covers. If yours is missing, or unlabeled, check your owner's manual, or a Hanes(tm) or Chilton(tm) repair manual. Often if a headlight is not working, it is the result of a blown fuse. Fuses have a wire running through them that will melt when too much current is run through them. If the fuse is blown, the wire will be broken. If the fuse for the headlight you are working on has an intact wire, it is likely the problem lies elsewhere.
  2. Swap the headlight for its twin. If your left headlight does not work, put the light from your right headlight in its place. If it works with the other headlight in place, your headlight bulb is dead, and needs to be replaced.
  3. If this does not work, try using a voltmeter on the plug for the bad headlight. Turn on the ignition, and turn the headlight switch. If the voltmeter shows no current, then either your switch or the wiring leading to the headlight has gone bad.
  4. If replacing your headlight switch does not solve the problem, then there is a break in the wiring leading to the headlight, and the wiring will need to be replaced.
Thanks
Good Luck
