Question about 2000 Toyota Camry

Toyota Camry 2000, break problem inconsistent

I have 2000 toyota camry, 45000 miles used, ABS break system
My car breaks applies if I pedal slightly, but i have experienced couple of times on the same day continuosly, breaks were not applied when i pedal it little and car was stopped when i pushed the break pedal completely down.

It happened 15 days back. I see breaks are working normal after and dont see any issues.

Is it due to break oil or break pads or some this else?

I had gone to mechanic and he did a test drive and said everything is fine.

Could be a number of things. A lot of times the ABS sensors at the wheels get dirty. This is due to them being magnetic and a lot of brake pads are semi metallic so the dust sticks to the sensors and makes them fuction a little weird. Have someone clean the sensors. I try to pressure wash them everytime I wash the car. Hope this helps.

You need to know where the abs (anti-lock brake system) fuse is ?
You should find it under the hood in a black plastic case marked "FUSES" there should be a indicator showing with fuses, and relay is which.

My abs and brake light are on

toyota has a plastic button on the brake pedal that's easy to break(been there) it engages the brake light switch. i took a 1/4 20 nut and bolt and put it in the hole, easy fix if that's the prob.

spongy brake pedal indicates air in the system... have the brakes inspected for leaks as it leaks when you apply the brakes and sucks in air when you release them.

2002 camry breaks

take off brake caliper, take off your brake pads. check the sliders. sliders are on the side of the bracket. see if they are moving freely in and out. im pretty sure they are seized. that's why your pedal is soft and sinks down really fast when applied.
