Question about 2005 Chevrolet Impala
My Speedometer has seemd to go out on me. I had this problem last year and replaced the speed sensor and also the little motor in my dash. Recently I have noticed problems with the speedometer sticking or jumping. I knew it was a sign of what was to come. Could it be that I picked up a faulty motor? Or could the problem be much bigger? If I had only bought a years older model the cable sounds like it would have been much easier for me. Thank you for your time :0)
Yes the motor is faulty or the circuit that controls it, both the motor and the driver circuit that sends voltage to the motor can cause this issue, have seen both issues many times, I think electronic speedo's are just over complication of a very simple device, i.e. cable driven speedometers.
