Try taking a soft rubber or nylon mallet and GENTLY tapping on the switch from the side/top to reset the tumbler pins.

New battery In mercedes no power

I'm not a car mechanic, but, it sounds like you might want to check the fuse to the ignition switch, and, if that fails, it might be a problem with the Start Safety Switch on the transmission. Good luck.

Key wont turn in ignition

If another key works look for a small difference between keys. Sometimes a key is cut high or low. If no key works in the ignition then it could be the tumbler.

Posted question couple days ago, my 2005 lincoln navigator wont start, replaced.starter and battery didnt work..when u put the key on dash board lights up but when u turn the key, nothing happens, no...

Are you certain the security has not immobilized the car? If it isn't a security issue, there is probably a problem in the start circuit.
If you check for power on the small starter solenoid wire, with the key held in crank, and no power is on that wire-the start circuit from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid has a problem. If the wire does have power with key in cranking position, probably a bad connection from battery to starter, since you have a new starter.
To be certain the engine is not locked up, put a socket and wrench on the crankshaft pulley center bolt and turn the engine over by hand a revolution or so.

My key will open the door, but it will not start the ignition....where do I get a new key ? This happened a couple of weeks ago, but it eventually worked in the ignition.

If you take all the details off the silver plate on the engine bulkhead to your Isuzu dealer they can give you the number for the key and order one .
It is called the mechanical key number and it will still be with Isuzu in Japan.

Wont turn over at all lights and everything else works put new altenater on on it, starter seems fine just wont start security light started coming on a week or so ago dont have owners manual so dont know...

TRY THIS RESET FOR THE SECURITY SYSTEM.

PASS LOCK RESET GM CARS 1999 UP
1) Put the key in the ignition and turn to the "ON" position. Leave it that way for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes turn the key and take it out. Repeat this process (2) more times (3 times, 30 minutes total) This should reset the passlock system to recognize your key.

1993 toyota camry ignition wont turn

the steering wheel SHOULD be locked if the key is not in the ignition and turned to the 1st position.  If you can turn the steering wheel more than an inch or so without the key n the first position,  the ignition switch (read: thingy you put the key in) is bad.
Sometimes you may have to move the steering wheel slightly to one side or the other to get the key to turn,  this in itself is not a cause for alarm. Try it and let us know.  If this doesn't work, you are probably looking at a couple hundred dollars parts and labor to get the switch/steering wheel lock mechanism fixed.
Please rate all solutions.

95 geo prizm steering problem

I just had this very same problem a couple of weeks ago on a '95 Prism. I had the ignition switch replaced. That has solved the issue to this point.
