Question about 1995 GMC Jimmy

95 Jimmy Starting Problem

Occasionally to more often the panel lights will not appear when the key is fully turned to "start". As a result, no ignition is possible. All other lights operate, e.g., dome, radio clock, gear indicator. Only when the panel lights operate will the suv ignition work.

2000 jimmy. Security flashes. Think passlock disabled fuel. Can I fix it?

yes. 1st make sure u have the key with the black thick key grip. not the key with only metal on it, that one probably wont work, anyhow start by makin sure batt fully charged, if not put on charger while programming key. ok then to program all u do is close all doors an trunk put key in ignition turn it on all the way to run and leave it like that for approx 20 to 30min, after that then simply shut off key an try to start engine, ur security light shouldve stopped flashing an ur engine should start .... good luck hope this was helpful

'97 GMC Jimmy: engine turns over but car won't start, electrical?

Sounds like a bad ignition switch but could also be a bad connection to the ICP or just a plain old bad ICP (Instrument control panel). The ICP needs to be able to communicate with the ECM, Brake Control Module and the SDM (sensing and diagnostic module). If these can not "talk" to each other the vehicle will go into a lock out theft mode...assuming it has a factory VAT system. But I would bet on the ignition switch first...seen it many times.

Radio clock stays on how do u turn it off on a 95 gmc jimmy

something is not correctly hooked in or someone ran a direct wire to the fuse panel power causing this ...i own this vehicle and simply turning the key off shuts the radio off ... otherwise you have a possible bad ignition switch

95 Nissan Maxima with fuel injection issue.

Could be battery, starter or coolant sensor.

It is hard to understand / get across engine noises with words so difficult to diagnose over the net but try to push start the car and let me know if it starts ok with a push. Also, maybe try a jump start, preferably using a circuit protector if you have one.
Let me know results of the above.

2000 GMC Jimmy won't start

Hi: Have run into same type of problem, turned out to be a dead or very battery. Has nothing to do with the ignitin switch. With a low battery have also had trouble getting the key out of a 95 Jimmy. Boost unit to get running then discommect battery, if unit stall right away replace alternator, if stays running replace battery. If you get the unit runnimg and try to drive it as is you should find lacks power and wants to stall.
