was it running before you replaced the alternator and battery or did it not run,and you thought that the battery and alternator was the cause of it not running. if a motor cranks and not start the battery and alternator are good. you need to check to see if the fuel pump is working and if you have spark
Alternator doesn't have anything to do with starting the car, it supplies power to the system once the engine runs. Does your starter crank the engine? Do you get spark? Is fuel pressure correct?
Battery being drained & won't run? Is it starting fine or do you need jumps to start? Not sure because your explanation was vague but sounds like you may have an alternator problem.
Car starts fine with a jump? You sure your battery is good? If the battery is good then you must have a connection bad right at the battery. If you jump it and it starts then the starter is ok. If you jump it and it stays running with lights on, heater fan on, etc. then the alternator is probably ok. The alternator won't keep the car from starting, but it might not let it start the next time if it is not recharging the battery. Please rate my answer so I am rewarded points for it.
Buy yourself a volt meter and check the batter voltage before and after it starts. You should read 12 volts before starting and around 14 volts once it starts and the alternator is charging the battery. Also check for loose connections between the alternator and battery. Check that the ground wire from the battery is secured to the vehicles frame. Good luck!
I won't say its an alternator problem because the alternator only charges the battery when its on, And it should start with the jump cables even if the battery and the alternator are bad. your Issue is not clear. Does the car start when you jump it ?
sounds like it may be a bad alternator. jump start the car and if it gets going disconnect the negative battery cable and if it dies you have a bad alternator. It may die as soon as you unplug the jump start cables.
