Sounds like the vehicle is in limp mode with an electrical problem take it down to autozone and have them pull and clear the codes then look the codes up online or talk to a few mechanics

Tip

Loss in engine power, sluggish responses, low top speed, etc.

If your car has
  1. Poor fuel responses
  2. Lost its "power"
  3. Low RPM
  4. Lower top speed
  5. Burns a lot of fuel
Then it could be because of carbon build-ups in your engine's combustion chamber. This is left behind with unburned fuel. It causes poor acceleration, a loss in power, lower top speed, and burns more fuel than it really has too. Not to mention causes smoke belching.

The best way to get rid of that would be to have a carbon ridding solution injected into the combustion chamber. The solution will liquify the carbon and other build-ups, which would then restore the "power" of your car. You'll get better acceleration, higher rpm and top speed, save fuel, etc. have a mechanic do it for you. It's alot cheaper and faster than having the engine overhauled (overhaul could trigger "loose compression").

The car has no horse power, the check engine light is on and there is no problems with the computer board or co sensor

Hello, here are three of the most common causes for loss of horse power.

1. Idle air control valve. ( sometimes they can be removed and cleaned )
2. MAF, ( mass air flow ), sensor. ( sometimes they can be removed and cleaned )
3. O2, ( oxygen sensor ). ( needs to be replaced )

All three of these things are part of your emission system, and all three of these things, if faulty or dirty can prevent the EMC, ( electronic control module ), from determining the proper fuel/air mix ratio. The ratio should be 1 part fuel to 14.7 parts air. A bad fuel/air mix can cause the following.
a. Bad idle.
b. Loss of power/poor acceleration.
c. stalling/fake stalling.
d. Poor gas mileage.
e. Prevent engine from starting.

I hope this helps you.

When i am sitting at a light the rpm reads .5 (below the 1), ltely my car has been cutting off while im waiting. The check engine light is also on

Hello,
Here are three of the most common causes for the issues your having;

1. A dirty air filter.

2. A faulty MAF, ( mass air flow ), sensor.

3. A faulty oxygen sensor.

All three of the above can cause one or more of the following; loss power, poor acceleration, poor MPG, fake stalling, stalling, and eventually can prevent the engine from starting at all.

It is because, with these three things the on board computer can't determine the proper fuel/air mix ratio. Often vehicle owners think the engine is not getting enough fuel when it's actually not getting enough air.

I hope this helps you.

2005 dodge neon, it has been jerking lately whenever i push the accelerator or the car has to go up a hill, or when im parked or stopped at a red light, has roughly 107,000miles on it

Hello,
Here are 3 very common causes for the isuues you're having.

1. Dirty air filter.
2. Faulty MAF, ( mass air flow ), sensor.
3. Faulty oxygen sensor.

These 3 things prevent the on board computer from determining the proper fuel/air mix ratio, and leads to symtoms like, poor acceleration, poor MPG, loss of power, fack stalling, and stalling.

I hope this helps you.

The fuel heater light on my xtype started flashing and the ABS lights. After a few more short journeys the ignition engine warning light is now on and staying on . I've also noticed a loss of power and...

I had a very similar problem (did not have the abs light) but had the other lights. Changed fuel filter as the problem seemed to be a fuel pressure problem. Turbo was back and no flashing heater light, engine light will go out after about three cold to hot starts as long as no other problem exists. It's worth a try as it is a cheap and relatively easy repaire to do. If not the answer take to a garage who can interrogate the computer.

2000 VW JETTA VR6 lights on everywhere!!

Believe it or not, this could be a mass airflow issue. The mass airflow can trigger the lights the ASR and the EPC lights. When i gets really cold, the airflow sensor sends signals to the CPU to readjust the air/fuel mixture.
