Question about 1992 Pontiac Grand Am
Replacement from 1985-1998 general motor models. Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain coolant. Raise up front end. take off the drain tube then heater hoses. lower the vechicle. Remove the console. unfasten sound insulator, console extention and or steering column filler . Remove floor or console duckwork and hoses. remove heater core access cover. remove core bolts or fasteners and take it out. Its a long process and not an easy one. If you got the time and resources by all means try it. If not, Id suggest taking it to a shop. Cost between 250-300.

You have to take apart the whole plastic cover on the inside of the cover and then unscrew the screws from the bottom of the car. It is a really hard work for time: it took 3 men about a day and a half to do. Or you could ask a nearby repair shop to just lift the engine with a crane which would be more expensive but much faster and easier.
