Question about Chevrolet Lumina
Transmission shift solenoids are located on the valve body assembly, which is behind the sidecover. To access, the chassis has to be dropped partially,or all the way down. There are two shift solenoids on the 4T60E trans,A&B.There is also aPWM solenoid, and a TCC solenoid.

I have a 1999 Tahoe with a 4L60e transmission (rear wheel drive) and the valve body is accessed undernearth. Remove the pan and the solenoids are visible from underneath. The GM transaxles usually have the valve body on the side.
