If you have disk brakes and its in the back you are trying use lots of heat and lightly prt from the back with a pry bar. The emergency break hangs up a tad and gets tough.

I have a 1999 GMC Suburban. I have automatic four wheel drive but when I shift into four wheel high it makes clunking sound. I have not tried four wheel low. I wondered why I can still use auto four wheel...

the auto 4 wheel does the same as part time in jeeps, it engages only when the vehicle loses traction. when auto 4 wheel is on the truck isn't fully in 4 wheel drive. my 02 sierra makes the clunk noise too but it does engage. try checking your fluids, i know its way pass the time for me to change mine out.

Front wheel heating up, just replaced pads rotor, caliper, outer wheel bearing, and still gets hot.

You may need to replace the flexible brake line going to the caliper. One little spec of rust or dirt will restrict the brake fluid from returning to the master cylinder which will keep the caliper depressed

Need to put a new tranny in my suburban,95' 2 wheel drive

Your suburban should have a 4L60E transmission if it a 1/2 ton C1500. Mine is a 4 wheel drive, but it is the same transmission except for the tail shaft to accomodate the transfer case. The 3/4 ton trucks came with a 4L80E.
