Question about 1998 Buick Regal
Hi do you mean the power steering works ok right but its hard to turn it left if this is the case jack it up disconnect your track rod end on the left side see if the suspension leg and hub assembley moves freely if so the do the same to the other side if this moves freely the vavles in your steering rack are stuck closed you will need to replace or overhaul yates210456

SOURCE: steering wheel squeaking
they do that sometimes...Usually if you take some silicone spray and squirt it all around the area where you can hear the squeak,it will go away.

is it the right key for that car? cause if not then that is the problem... if it is the right key, then you might have to replace the key cylinder cause you may have something broken in it...

You description was very good, I need to ask for a specific.
When you turn to the left, the wheel is stiff like the engine is off or does it turn smoothly but the vehicle doesn't turn or seem to respond.
I'm trying to rule out broken mounts,
Also, if the wheel is all the way to the right, is it difficult turning back to the left the whole way, or half way. See where I'm going.?
