Question about 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix
If the problem is intermittant and you smack on the blower motor and then it works, your most likely problem would be an internal fault in the blower motor like the brushes. You may first want to check the connections to the blower motor to see if they are loose. If they are not the problem is internal, and the motor will need to be replaced. An auto parts store like oreillys will most likely have the part for no more than 50 bucks.

I have had intermintant heater blower opreation. When I take my hand and hit the unit the motor comes on! I have checked the schematic from the manual for the said 1995 Grand AM and electrically every item in the circut checks good.
I reckon the motor has a loose connection within the unit in question or perhaps the brushes are going bad, but as long as I hit the unit it works, ha! The most practical solution is to replace the motor unit with a used one from a junkyard and hope for the best? Or purchase a new unit which could be somedwhat costly? At any rate, it is better than being cold!
