    The Check engine came out for the first time , I was troubled, took it to the shope, the code was removed but it took only 1 day it came out again. It doesn't come out when driving no, just when I start the card. So what to do?

I did some research on the web, i pulled up a memo from toyota motor corp that states,
there was a lot of complaints about the 05 corollas not starting and the cause is the ecm or the pcm, it was not issued as a recall but if you bring it to a dealer they will install a new computer free of charge,

The check engine light comes on when your vehicle has a problem with the OBD 2 - onboard diagnostic's system . (emissions) When the light is on there are DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored in the PCM - engine computer ! Changing the spark plug's may or may not do anything . There are a number of sensors that send signals to the PCM so PCM knows how much fuel to add to the engine . You need to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop an have it check out .

Can't retrieve codes through dash an cruise control. Also cruise set resume switch does not seem to work.

It seems the pcm is detected a fault with the engine. Even if the problem goes away , the vehicle will have to go three drive cycles without engine faults before the cruise control use will be allowed by pcm.

I have a Saturn 2001 4door s series the security light is on and won't start what can I do

The passlock system is a vehicle theft deterrent system which deters drive-away vehicle theft by disabling engine operation if the ignition lock cylinder is not rotated with the proper mechanically cut key.
The passlock system is made up of an ignition switch assembly, passlock sensor, body control module (BCM), instrument panel cluster (IPC), and a powertrain control module (PCM).
The ignition switch contains a magnet mounted on the lock cylinder and a passlock sensor assembly which consists of security hall effect sensor, tamper hall effect sensor, and output resistors. A drill proof metal shield is also staked over the sensor housing.
The passlock sensor mounted to the ignition switch assembly is located inside the upper right side of the steering column. The passlock sensor contains two hall effect sensors: a tamper hall effect sensor and a security hall effect sensor. The tamper hall effect sensor is mounted on top of the security hall effect sensor. Should someone attempt to defeat the system by use of magnetic experimentation, the tamper hall effect sensor will activate first.
The BCM has the passlock controller integrated into it which controls the majority of the security systems logic. The BCM reads the data from the passlock sensor continuously. If the data is correct and has been received by the BCM within a specified time, the BCM will send a coded password to the PCM. The PCM will then allow the fuel injectors to operate.
The coded password for the security system is sent from the body control module to the PCM via the class 2 data link. If the password is correct and received within the specified time, the PCM will allow the fuel injectors to operate.
The IPC contains the security telltale. The security telltale has three modes of operation, OFF, FLASHING, and ON.
SECURITY TELLTALE will be off if:
Ignition is in the OFF position

Ignition is in the RUN, START, or ACC position and security system diagnostics have all PASSED

SECURITY TELLTALE will be on if:
The BCM is performing a bulb check at vehicle start

Security system diagnostics have not yet completed at vehicle start

A security system diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is set in the BCM or PCM

SECURITY TELLTALE will be flashing if:
The tamper hall effect sensor has been triggered

Incorrect passlock sensor data to BCM for more than 5 seconds during vehicle start

No passlock sensor data to the BCM for more than 5 seconds during vehicle start

Incorrect password from the BCM to the PCM after 5 seconds during vehicle start

I had to have cadilac converter taken off car, I have a code that says Map Sensor and 02 this due to the converter missing now? and does that affect the performance of the car in anyway?

The codes your car are throwing up and important codes to get fixed. The O2 sensor code is there because the cadilac converter was removed. The O2 sensor measure the amount of oxygen present in the exhaust both before the cadilac converter and after. When the measurments are the same the computer knows the cadilac converter is not working properly and it turns on the Check Engine Light. This code in itself will not effect the performance of the vehicle in any way OTHER then emissions. This is bad for the environment and if you live in a place that requires emission testing you will fail and eventually your resignation will be revoked making it illegal to drive that vehicle. It is illegal for a shop to remove the cadilac converter without replacing it so I recommend you avoid that shop in the future. There is a $10,000 fine if they are caught **** this.

The code for the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) is completely unrelated but this code WILL effect the fueling and thus performance (both power and fuel economy) of the vehicle. The computer uses this sensor to get an idea of how much vacuum or suction the engine is using to pull fresh air into the combustion changer and then decided how much fuel to add. Its important that the proper amount of fuel be added to keep your engine running well. I highly recommend either doing some testing yourself or have a shop address this issue. MAP sensor are quite cheap and easy to replace. If you are not good with a multimeter then I would just replace the MAP sensor and see if it goes away. If you feel up to it you can check the resistance and continuity of the wires connecting the MAP sensor to the PCM. If you would like I can provide you with step by step instructions and wiring diagrams as well as pin out so you can test this. Good luck and thank you.

P0606 code on 2003 Saturn Vue AWD 2.2l check engine light on

Hi there:
P0606 is a internal computer fault. Sometimes extreme hot or cold weather will screw up a computer.

P0606 - PCM / ECM Processor Fault
This code is a fairly simple one. It basically means that the PCM/ECM (powertrain/engine control module) has detected an internal integrity fault in the PCM. When this code is activated it should store freeze-frame data that helps someone with an advanced code scanning tool to get information on exactly what was going on with the vehicle when the P0606 code was triggered.

Most likely the only symptom of a P0606 DTC code is the illumination of the "Check Engine Light" a.k.a. MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp).

Cause: In all likelyhood the PCM / ECM has failed.

Possible Solutions: As a vehicle owner there is little you can do to fix this code. The most common fix for a P0606 code is to replace the PCM, although in some cases re-flashing the PCM with updated software could possibly fix this. Be sure to check for TSB's on your vehicle (Technical Service Bulletins).

In all likelyhood the fix is to replace the PCM. This is generally not a "do-it-yourself" task, although in some cases it may be. We strongly recommend you have a qualified repair shop / technician do the work, one that has the capability to reprogram the new PCM. Installing the new PCM may involve using special tools to program the vehicle's VIN (vehicle identification number) and/or anti-theft information (PATS, etc.).

NOTE: This repair may be covered under the emissions warranty so be sure to check with your dealer as this may be covered beyond the bumper-to-bumper or powertrain warranty period.

Engine Malfunction Indicator- What does it mean

Hi!! The Engine Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) or Check Engine Light, is the visual signal the computer turns on when there is a problem with the Engine Performance. The Check Engine Light comes ON when there is a problem with the Emissions, Fuel, Evap., ABS systems among other things. The codes can be retrieved using an OBDII scanner if your vehicle was made after 1996.

Check engine light came on giving me the code po449 when i had them put it on the machine

I do not have the PO449 code,but it is in with
the EVAP System codes
You will need professional help with EVAP Leaks,
only because they are so small, and there are a lot
of components in the system
So an EVAP Smoke Machine is used to find them.
It is about $1100 piece of equip. Fairly cheap and
fast at finding your problems.
Also a scanner may be necessary to actuate components
That is 9 grand plus 2 g for software.

No one ever puts a machine or computer on your vehicle,ever.
What is used, is a code reader or scan tool,to look at your
vehicles ECM or PCM. Your vehicle, is more of an assortment
of processors,than computers.

Ck engine light on - no code

Check engine light with no codes usually means a PCM reset is happening. EBP shorting, ICP shorting, aftermarket "performance chip". PIDS need to be monitored to eliminate sensors. IDMs (Injector Driver Modules) can also cause this. IDM's are separate from the PCM/ECM (engine computer).

What code is it showing for the leak detection pump ? That pump along with all sensors on the vehicle can set more then one code , most can set half a dozen ! Circuit volt high , circuit voltage low , open , short to power , short to ground etc... You probably have a wiring problem , I'd say it's time to find a new mech. Plus you can not just swap PCM/ECM - engine computers , they need to be reconfigured an programmed . Or other problems will pop up . With the check engine light on codes or set !
