Don't know if this helps much...have same problem. have to take the whole dimmer and turn signal switch off. pop up (don't take off) the top cover of the steering column. The turn signal handle is attached to the switch (all one unit) and held in place by those small plastic hinges (should be one on top and one on the side). unhook those, and you should be able to lift the switch up and should slide right out. Now, the problem is the parts stores (Autozone, checkerauto, NAPA, etc.) don't carry that item at this point (they may as of this writing [checked last this past weekend]). You have to get it from the dealer at a cost of $150+

$35 sounds right for the lever. It definitely sounds like it's your lever acting up as the contact seems to be stuck

How to replace high/low beam switch on 2004 Ford Focus LX?

Should be fairly easy. Make sure to disconnect the positive battery cable. Remove the cover from around the column behind the steering wheel. Should take a star driver to remove the screws holding the cover together. Once the screws are removed pop the cover apart and you will see the multifunction switch on the column, should have two to three screws holding it to the column remove the screws and it should come out pretty easy replace with new one and put back together.

High beams work but low beams do not. Fuses seem to be good

Hi

I would start with the dimmer switch if you know the lights are good dimmer switches do this you will lose your high beam or you will lose your low beam when they go bad.

High beams wont turn on.

First place to start is with headlight switch. I did have a case many years ago when both high beams were blown out at once, but this is rare. When you have the headlight switch out, jump power from te low beams to the high beam contacts. If high beams come on, replace switch.
