I had the exact same problem with my vehicle...turned out to be a bad alternator. the car had been riding on pure battery power because alternator failed. Eventually the battery had 0 power left and produced the effect you are talking about where you push gas while in gear , and the transmission will slowly move the car but no power. I had alternator replaced and car is fine. Make sure you get battery fully charged with alternator(the battery charging should not cost anything)

My car starts, then instantly dies. Could it be the fuel filter

It could be the filter, but it could also be the fuel pump.

Car starts right up but 2 seconds dies, u can start it right up again & it dies again, won't run. has good spark & fuel pressure good when dies

You are on the right track by finding the injector pulse missing.
The computer grounds the injectors based on signals from the cam and crank sensors. You may have to use a scanner to check for trouble codes in the computer and watch the sensors work.
The problem could also be a relay or the key switch.
