Question about BMW 525

1 Answer

The ac/heater won't even turn on. Nothing comes out at all when you turn it on. Is it a blown fuse or something more serious? Thanks, Marcia

Yesyerday i was driving my BMW with out the heater on. While i was driving my fan came on with out me turning it on. Today i went to start my car and the batery is completrly dead. My fan must have drained my battery, that's no problem I could get that fixed, But, my question is what is wrong with, my fan? Why did it turn on with out me turning it on? I am thinking that maybe wires are crossed or something.

You do realize you have a leak to be found & fixed,
if you had to add refrigerant. All your doing now,
is waiting for it to leak out again & polute the air.
What kind of shop adds to a leaking system & does
not check the rear unit as well?
If you ever have any fuse found blown, there is a reason it failed
Replacing a fuse won't fix a thing,they blow for a reason

How do you find the heater/AC fuse? It clicks but won't turn on!

There should be a 30amp HVAC fuse in the fuse box in the passenger compartment. The location should be in your owners manual.
Keep in mind you have an electronic control panel and a control module that manages the blower speed and the other controls. Either one of these components could have failed.

it does sound like the heater motor fuse is blown -- but if you check it and it is good ( not blown ) then it could be the heater motor itself or even the heater switch/relay. check all the wires going to the heater motor. -- try and give the motor body a little love tap,, ( this sometimes works ) and tells ya that the motor has a bad conection or the brushes are bad.

When you try to turn the heater on or a/c the heater dont turn on and the ac dont turn on.

More than likly a fuse is blown. The problem isn't the blown fuse but the cause of the fuse getting blown. The blower motors seise and lock up then the fuse blows the blower can get something in it mouse pen dropped thoght defroster. The ballast resiter burns out and then it don;t blow the fuse, Rarely the switch gets unpluged or burnt out but not a common problem. Fuse is 30 amp green.

My air condition/heater is not blowing any air in 1991 ford probe

First check AC fuse, if OK, next check the blower motor by itself by disconnecting the wires connected to it and see if it works by connecting it directly to the battery power. If the blower works that way, then there could be an issue with some sensors or the conputer. Try disconnecting the battery for a while and also theAC fuse at re same time and then reconnect then. Many times alot of problems are solved this way because the computer, which operate many sensors nowadays, will automatically resest after being disconnected for a while. It that still doesn't work, there might be something more serious going on. Hope only what I have suggested helps.

Try spinning the knob real fast in either direction. Sounds stupid but it worked for me.
