Check the aux duel tank switch you can pull the switch out and if you cant tell if its bad or not expose the wires going into it take another piece of wire and hook it into a fuse port then toach it to the difrent wires coming from the switch and if its the switch or a bad relay you will be able to tell because youll be able to hear the fuel pumps turn on the same thing happened to mine a couple of weeks ago i just went down to the junk yard and switched it all out

Not pumping fuel will not start, only rear tank was working untill ran out of fuel put in gas will not start ?

If there is power to the fuel pump, check the fuel pressure. If power and no pressure, then pump is bad. Water in the tanks will kill the pumps fast.

Its sounds like it wants to start but it won't

If you have dual tanks, check the tank selector switch. I've had 2 of them fail on mine in the last 5 years

1990 f150 302 new motor has progreesivly go worse when trying to start it takes a wile the fuel pump in both tank are working has new spark plugs at overhaul but no other new ignition parts seems to notbe...

maybe fuel enrichment circuit for cold start is not working. If you spray some starting fluid in the throttle body and it starts right up cold, look for a problem with fuel enrcihment during cold start.

1990 F150 Fuel pump just replaced but wont turn on

Replace the fuel pump relay. And if your truck has dual tanks there's three fuel pumps, one in each tank and another secondary fuel pump.

Have you checked that you have power to the coil on cranking? You may also want to check wether you have a good strong spark at the spark plug.It could be an ignition module breaking down.If you have no power to the coil you may need to change the ignition relay. Its close to the battery.
