Maf sensor i bought a 94 toyota p u 22re and someone pulled the plug out of the maf and all the wires are off of it . it looks sealed is this repairable??

Stephen, I believe there is just a 2 wire plug, no seperate ground wire. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

think its time to remove the head and renew the gasket ,also remove the valves and renew the seals and gring them in a bit ,maybe even renew the valve springs ,or buy a newer vehicle as its nearly 20 yrs old

Sound like your maf sensor. Clean it out with maf senor cleaner.it gets damp and dirty.air is comeing from the out side and to your carburetor.

If your having idling problems from what i can tell of your post and the egr vsv (vacuum switching valve) has vacuum on both sides holding open the egr you need to check power at connector if ground and 12v present replace vsv

I assume you mean a mass airflow sensor. You replace the sensor housing and the sensor together as a unit.

it depends, is it a 4cyl or 6cyl truck? If its a 4cyl, its a 22RE engine, any engine from 84 till I think 99 or 2000 will fit, the big thing is the wiring, if you just need the block and head, it should work. bolt everything else up and slap it in. should take about 4 or 5 hours depending on how much you know about engines. If its a 6cyl...your on your own.

You can remove your Egr system and the engine will run fine.

the color of the plastic plug does not matter... You will have two injector plugs with white/red and yellow wires - those two go to cyl#'s 1 and 3.
the other two plugs will have white and blur wires.. those two plugs go to injectors # 2 and 4.

When the timing chains stretch( and they do!) they can cause the 22re to stumble intermittently. Have trouble starting, misfiring, and even some trouble codes But first check your engine for codes You can do this by jumping TE1 and E1


If you have codes we can go from there.
You should pull your valve cover and check you timing chain tension, it should be very tight and not loose. if it is loose it is most likely time for a new chain and/ or tension and guides. I always replace them as a kit. Keep in mind that if the chain is worn it will get progressively worse until the engine will not run or the chain will wear in to the water galleys behind the water pump on the timing chain cover. sorry man.
