Question about 1995 Chevrolet K2500
1. buy a PMD 6' cable extention and mount pmd inder your dash with a heat sync. on eBay.

and this should be the last, especially if you do both 1 and 2
these US made PMDs have much higher rated diodes. The real culprit.

You can try to remove the PMD fron the pump and mount it on a pmd cooler away from the heat, it may help.

Recently another company has come out with a PMD that can withstand a much higher amount of heat. It is the heat from out big 6.5's that cause these to fail. Also my mechanic put on a steel adapter and moved it away from the standard location. Since I have placed this new one one, that I might mention did not cost any extra, it has not failed. (Crossing my fingers).
The stock manufacturer of the PMD is Stanadyne, it is not made by this company. Sorry I can not remember the manufacturer right now, but it should be that hard to find.
